We are now officially a family of 5.

We are now officially a family of 5!!! We had to get up early this morning and get to breakfast by 7:30 am.
Our bus left at 8:30 to head for the same building we were at to pick the kids up the day before. The guides did a good job explaining to the kids we were just going to do paperwork and then go back to the hotel with their families. We found out on the way that Max gets motion sickness. We sat in the back of the bus and he got very sick to his stomach. It took about 30 min and he was feeling better. We found out Max loves to take pictures. I gave him my camera and he was taking lots of pictures of everyone. Kim and Kasey were making funny faces and making him laugh while he took pictures of them. He would take the pictures of the officials as we went in to do paperwork. One picture was never enough so we have several pics of people we don’t know. He was having fun. When we got back on the bus we went to a shopping mall. It was about 10 stories tall. Max started feeling sick right when the bus started to move. We were at the mall about an hour, we spent most of time outside on a bench waiting to leave. Max fell asleep on Daves lap. As soon as we got back to the hotel Max got a big smile on his face. We went back to the room and had a little lunch. We then went outside of the hotel to the gardens. The waterfalls are beautiful and the ponds are full of Koi fish. Max definitely is not afraid of water or fish. He is so silly. He loves to pose for pics. We are really getting to know his personality and he will fit in perfectly. He has made us laugh so much. When we got back to the room he wanted to take a bath. The tub is a big garden tub and he can fill it up pretty deep. He had lots of fun splashing and swimming in the tub. I bet it will be a daily activity. Today was about 10 degrees cooler than yesterday and windy. I don’t think we will be swimming this trip. We went and looked at the pool and Max got really excited. He was talking a mile a minute to one of the hotel staff. Dave just took Max down to the Robertson’s room to show him what a nerf gun is all about. They brought a couple. Again I can’t believe how good everything is going. We have had to correct him a few times. He seems to take it well. Well better go for now.

Max putting together a Lego kit from the Stellwagen family, he was so into putting it together.

Comments

I am unable to view my blog while in China so if you can e-mail me your comments that would be great angie.maue@yahoo.com. It's 2:00am. can't sleep. Just thinking how God has been so good to us. Max went right to sleep last night. Tomorrow is an early day. Hey quick thought just popped in my head I won't have to do his hair In the morning yea!! Oh I already see similarities in Max and his Dad like their artistic talents and appetite. We got carry out Chinese last night we had a few sets of chop sticks and 2 forks, Max grabbed the fork and started shoveling it in. We had gotten 5 egg rolls one for each but before Dave could get his, Max had it eaten of course he did not care it was just funny to see how much he eats. Well I better get some sleep.

Gotcha Day

Today was gotcha day!!! We were pretty nervous, Max or they call him Quan Quan (chin chin) is how it is pronounced was last to come out. He was so scared he would not even look at us but about half hour in I got my first hug. He calls us Ma Ma and Ba Ba. He is doing so well now all smiles they tell us he is very smart. He likes all his gifts especially the cars. His foster family sent him with a little dog that sings twinkle twinkle little star. We went to McDonalds for lunch he wanted Chicken McNuggets. He loves to share he gives everyone a bite or a piece of whatever he has then he will eat his. We went to Trust Mart it's kinda like Walmart. Max picked out a video and a remote control car Ba Ba could not say no. He did want a couple other things but was ok with no to those things. He likes Dave to carry him, he is very little looks more like 4 or 5. We are just gonna get some carry out for dinner. We are all very tired. I will write more tomorrow, stay tuned.

We ate real Chinese food last night. Our guide Susan and two other families one being Sharon and Jake Robertson took us to a local restaurant. It was very nice because she ordered for us. Nothing like Chinese food in the US it was good but different . Well better get some sleep next time I post we will be a family of 5.

We are here!!!

We arrived in Guangzhou at about 11:30am. We were met at the airport by one of our guides Ann. It was about a 30 min bus ride to the hotel. The hotel is beautiful. We have fresh roses in our room with some fresh fruit on the table. We really feel like we are being pampered. We will meet Max tomorrow morning about 11:00am. So that's about 9:00pm Sunday night for Il. We are all pretty tired trying to stay up so we will be able to sleep tonight. We are meeting one of our guides Susan in the lobby along with two other families and going to a local restaurant for dinner. Today on the plane we had shrimp fried rice for breakfast. Yuk!! Well better go for now. Can't wait for tomorrow!!
